THE DAY OF SMALL THINGS
By George Thurlow

God’s not a respecter of persons
He doesn’t favor those of might;
All His Blood washed children
Are precious in His sight.
All the work that Christ has given
For these hands to do,
Will never be too lowly
For this child to do.
No assignment in His Kingdom
Is too menial for me.
When requested by the Master,
It brings only joy to me.
No work is unimportant
In serving the mighty King,
For my Lord does not despise
The day of small things.
When done in His power and blessing
And performed in His great name;
No task is insignificant
Without value or mundane.
God has chosen the foolish
To confound the wise.
I’d rather be a fool for Jesus
And be valued in His eyes.

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;”
