Meet With God by in the Morning
Meet With God in the Morning
By George Thurlow
May 11, 2026 ©️
Meet with God in the morning;
Be infused with power divine.
Eagerly soak in His presence
Amidst this heavenly clime.
Let your spirit soar on morning wings,
Chasing the sunlit rays.
Hear the still small voice…and let your heart rejoice,
O’er the gift of a brand new day.
Seek the Savior early;
Hear what He longs to share:
How glorious is the fellowship
In those daybreak times of prayer.

Overcoming By the Blood
I was blessed with a new poem this morning at the shore. Believer’s remain firm in the faith!
Overcoming By the Blood🩸
By George Thurlow
©️May 7, 2026
Walk by faith and not by sight,
Forsake mistrustful feelings.
Wield the Sword, proclaim the Word,
Resist the devil’s dealings.
Meet the enemy with
Christ’s precious Blood:
Hold fast and do not waver.
From fear refrain, in faith remain,
Pleading the Blood of Christ the Savior.
Revelation 12:11
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Cast Your Cares
Cast Your Cares
By George Thurlow
©️2/27/2026
Cast your cares and don’t despair;
You’re not in this trial alone.
Christ Who cares, has heard your prayers:
Help cometh from the throne.
Though troubles great,
And aggravate
They would vex your very soul:
Christ will lift, and the weight will shift
When on Christ your burdens roll.

1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Good Cheer
Good Cheer
By George Thurlow
January 1, 2026 ©️
I have but one resolution
In the infancy of this year:
Lay all at the feet of Jesus,
Each day be of good cheer.
I won’t let my heart be troubled;
My “life is hid with Christ in God” .
In Him I am triumphant,
And on a higher plane I trod.
Though unknown the path before me,
Blindly I will not roam.
For I’m guided by the Spirit
And do not walk alone.
I will take heart and be of courage;
Choosing faith over dread and fear.
Through Christ an overcomer
With a spirit of good cheer.

John 16:33
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 14:1
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
Psalm 31:24
24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
Colossians 3:3
“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”
Good News
Good News
By George Thurlow
©️December 13, 2025
Have you heard the good news
Of the Savior who was born?
Of the prophesied Messiah
Who arrived on Christmas morn?
Prophecy fulfilled from the Foundation of the earth
God’s chosen Lamb of Bethlehem Offering man a second birth.
Reconciliation
Relationship restored
Through the Son of God Himself
To even up the score.
God’s promise of the woman’s seed
To crush the serpents head
Now coming to fruition
With this babe in a manger bed.
What joyous revelation
Herald angels glorified
The arrival of the Savior
This babe who was born to die.
Changing the course of fallen man
Being the remedy for the breach
Pardon and forgiveness
Through celestial outreach.
The Season of Light
THE SEASON OF LIGHT
By George Thurlow
©️December 5, 2025
The season of light is upon us With Christmas trees aglow,
Homes outlined with brilliant hues
Reflecting off the snow.
Beautiful, but superficial:
These human efforts to pierce the night,
Man’s feeble endeavor to escape the dark,
Through its own artificial light.
Obsessive strives to illumine the world at its darkest hour:
Ignoring the Truth of the Gospel
That Christ is the true Light and Power.
And this was the condemnation,
For the Light they wouldn’t heed,
Preferring to stay in darkness
Because of evil deeds.
Yet still exists the wise men,
Called out of the dark of night
Surrendering their lives unto Him;
Entering His marvelous Light.
John 3:19
“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
1 Peter 2:9
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”

Have you a heart of Thanksgiving,
When you awaken every morn?
Are you grateful for another day
Has your spirit been reborn?
Or are you shrouded by a personal cloud,
That persists above your head?
Under the weather every day,
Fogged in by gloom and dread?
Are you tired of being Overwhelmed and
Hopelessly depressed?
Confused and agitated,
Persistently distressed?
Let me offer you a remedy
The cure is tried and true:
Guaranteed to bring relief
And drive away the blues.
I present to you my Jesus,
The healer of broken lives.
The Redeemer of all captive souls,
The driver out of sin and strive.
Surrender to the Son of God
The One Who paid the price:
By the shedding of His precious Blood,
He’ll transform your life.
With a heart of Thanksgiving
You’ll awaken every morn;
As a new creation
With a spirit that is reborn!

Simeon
By George Thurlow
©️12/26/2005
There was a man called Simeon
The same, devout and just.
The Spirit was upon him;
In God’s Word he placed his trust.
For the consolation of Israel
He faithfully did wait.
Always mindful, ever watching
For the appointed date.
For the Holy Ghost revealed to him
That he should not see death:
‘Til he beheld the Savior
In peace he then could rest.
When eight days were accomplished
It was then that Simeon saw,
The Babe brought to the Temple
In accordance with Moses’ Law.
And when his eyes beheld Him
He began to prophesy:
“Mine eyes have seen Salvation;
In peace I now can die”.
“For He’s a light to lighten the Gentiles
and for the glory of Israel.”
Simeon gave his blessing
In his arms the Child he held.”
His name holds special meaning:
Simeon is one who hears.
Through him there is a lesson
Passed down throughout years.
Like him, we must be faithful,
And our hearts must truly yearn:
Ever mindful, ever watchful
For Christ’s imminent return.
Looking for that Blessed Hope,
Having spiritual ears.
Remaining pure and holy
So the Trumpet we will hear.
Luke 2: 25-35

A Man of Few Words
A Man of Few Words
By George Thurlow
©️May 24, 2010
Christ’s Words were aptly chosen,
Though in number they were few;
In authority and power
Sin and sickness were subdued.
Circumstances could not phase Him,
Neither threats nor mocking jeers;
The epitome of faith perfected,
The antithesis of fear.
Verbiage was not needed
Being the Son of God;
Demons shook and shuddered
And under His feet were trod.
Simplistic Words of comfort
“Fear not I am with thee”:
Radiated confidence
To those who could not see.
And now as His own brethren
We receive His authority
For greater works are promised
To those who will believe.
Power to wield the mighty Sword
Permission to use His Name:
Faith to speak to mountains
And to do the same.
Application of His precious Blood
Is now what faith demands,
Not a lengthy homily
But an authoritative command.
*Inspired by Rev. Merle L. Mitchell’s
message preached on May 24, 2010 entitled “A Man of Few Words”.

Go Forth
The Holy Ghost gave me a new poem this morning at the kitchen table. I share it with you with the sense of urgency and exhortation that I received it in. The time draws so near to Christ’s return. “Multitudes, multitudes in the Valley of Decision”. Population of the earth over 8 billion!!!!
Go Forth ©️
By George Thurlow
September 28, 2024
Go forth and be not hindered
By the happenings of the day.
He Who’s True and Faithful
Has His hand on you always.
Be not shaken by the natural
Nor frightened by what you hear:
You are born again of the Spirit
And have put on spiritual ears.
You have become a brand new creature
And are seated in heavenly places.
You’ve been ordained and chosen
No longer fear the faces.
Go forth and spread the Gospel
In the power of His might;
Endued with the Holy Spirit
Salt of the earth and light.
Be about the Father’s business,
Occupy until Christ comes:
Strive to do His bidding
Until the Word is heard “Well done”.

His Workmanship
The Holy Spirit blessed me with this poem this morning as I was reading. See poem below and related Scriptures. ✍️
His Workmanship
By George Thurlow
©️September 4, 2024
Frustrated and dissatisfied
With a discontented view,
A negative self image
That has gone askew?
Don’t criticize God’s workmanship,
You are uniquely you:
Created for His purposes
From a divine depicted view.
You are a special Masterpiece
Fitted precisely for His plan:
A peculiar puzzle piece,
God’s own “poemia” man.
Fearfully and wonderfully,
By the Lord you were handmade:
To serve and glorify Him,
He is acquainted with all your ways.
In His book your days were written,
How marvelous is His works.
Now get in line, with His design
Your opposition shirk.
For you are God’s own poem
Through the Spirit envision your role.
There’s a niche for you in His Kingdom
With a purpose, gift and goal.
georgethurlow.blogspot.com
*Poemia- Greek word for workmanship.
meaning “that which is made”. The English word “poem” is derived from “poiema”.
Ephesians 2:10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Psalm 139: 3, 14, 16.

Jesus Had the Birthday
JESUS HAD THE BIRTHDAY
By George Thurlow
©️December 20, 2023
Jesus had the birthday
But man received the Gift
Christ came unto this sinful world
To rectify the rift.
He came to restore relationship
Destroyed by sin and shame
Through His death and resurrection
By the power of that great name.
Jesus had the birthday
But man received the Gift
Liberation from the devil’s grip
Out of hopelessness to lift.
He was born to bring salvation
At a great and costly price
Paying the penalty for our sins
Sacrifing His own life.
Jesus Had the birthday
You too can receive this Gift
By opening up your heart to Him
His Blood will mend the rift.

Romans 10:9-13
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
