The promise of the Father
Poured out on Pentecost
Still endues mankind with power
To be witnesses for the lost.
From apathy to action,
Changing passive clime,
Transforming the complacent
In a moment's time.
Supernatural equipping
To empower the redeemed,
And embolden all the fearful
Altering the scheme.
But lethargy and laziness
Can so subtly creep in:
Before we even know it
We're doing zilch for Him.
If self-examination
Proves that this be true...
It time for stirring up the gifts
That was given me and you.
It is high time for revival
This our spirit man requires
A fresh anointing in our lives
With the Holy Ghost and fire.
Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
This poem inspired by Rev. M.L Mitchell's sermon called "The Book of Action" and the title derived from his words "apathy to action" . Sermon delivered on 5/15/16 pm service at Faith Lighthouse Assembly of God Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
