Number Your Days

NUMBER YOUR DAYS

  By George Thurlow

Our days on earth are but a dash

Compressed ‘tween birth and death;

Quickly spent, comes the last full breath

Then we vanish in a flash.

The soul and spirit separated,

Now leave behind their earthly shell;

Without fail, they do swiftly sail

Present with the Lord to dwell.

So number your days dear brethren,

Focus on priorities;

Seek the Kingdom first, after righteousness thirst

In view of eternity.

“For only what’s done for Christ will last”

And will stand the test of fire…

For the Bema reveals the story,

Were the works done for Christ’s own Glory?

Right now’s the time to inquire.

Matthew 6:33

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Psalms 90:12

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

1 Corinthians 3:13

“Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.”

The Other Side of Faith

On the Other Side of Faith

By George Thurlow

On the other side of faith

Is where a miracle awaits

Though contrary may be appearances

Refuse to vacillate.

Stand boldly on God’s promises

With stubborn, unyielding faith.

Believe it, declare it, claim it

Let not doubt have any place.

Though Pharaoh be behind you

And the Red Sea up ahead,

Give praise in expectation

For your miracle instead.

Look not upon the obstacles

That seem to hinder and block the way

For the power of God is greater

He performs miracles still today!

Stay Atop, Don’t Flop!

Stay Atop, Don’t Flop

Cast not away your confidence

In the midst of wind and waves

Focus on the Master

Be steadfast, strong and brave.

Resist the fear and panic

Concentrate upon His Word

Know that Christ is faithful

Recall all you’ve read and heard.

Look not upon the circumstance

Through Christ you’re above it all

Maintain that trust in Jesus

And you won’t slip and fall.

Rely upon His promises

Deflect the darts of doubt

Declare victory in the crisis

Decree it’s all worked out.

For faithful is He that has called you

He won’t let you fail or flop

Maintain your grip on Jesus

And He’ll keep you right on top.

Matthew 14:27-31

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

1 Thessalonians 5:24

“Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.”

My Morning Musings 1/2/23

1 Corinthians 4:2

“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”

✍️Morning Musings 1/2/23

On my drive down to the shore this morning, I reflected on God’s faithfulness to me over the past year. Then the thought came to mind that faithfulness is just God’s nature and one of His many attributes.

Moreover I began to ponder my own faithfulness to God? According to 1 Corinthians 4:2, faithfulness is a requirement. It is one of the fruits of the Spirit that should be found in all believers.

How do I measure up in God’s eyes? Are there areas in which I need work? Am I willing to let Holy Spirit do a thorough fruit inspection? Am I willing to examine my own self and hold it up to the mirror of the Word?

Yes, without reservation.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Thank you Lord I am a new creation in Christ and I yield to the ongoing reconstruction!

Philippians 1:6

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
