Living Water

 LIVING WATER

By George Thurlow

©️May 25, 1997

Bubbling up and spilling o’er;

Joy bestowed forever more:

Welling up from deep within

In this child set free from sin.

In the Spirit I sing and pray;

Forgetting the hour and time of day.

Alone with Christ my dearest friend,

The Paraclete, my soul attends.

Lost in a world of love and warmth;

Forsaking selfish cares and wants.

Death to self brings joyous gain,

And a blessed walk on a higher plain.

Never thirsty nor parched again;

There’s a perpetual fountain deep within.

The river of life renews my soul

As long as the Comforter has control.

John 7: 37-39

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

John 4:14

“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

Revelation 21:6 - And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Isaiah 44:3 - For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

Isaiah 55:1

“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”

The Path of the King’s Highway

 THE PATH OF THE KING’S HIGHWAY

By George Thurlow

©️July 5, 1999

Sometimes in this life

There are troubles and strife;

You are burdened down with cares.

But just look to the Cross,

And compare the cost,

Then your load’s not too heavy to bear.

The road to Calvary was lonely and cruel,

But the Savior went all the way.

By example He led,

And we too must tread

The path of the King’s Highway.

In the darkest of nights

You still have the Light.

Through the tears you are able to see:

The Lord on the Cross,

Who paid the great cost,

Now bearing the burden for thee.

Someday round the bend

The journey will end.

Ahead, your first glimpse of home.

The Savior to meet, and  loved ones to greet,

All there to welcome you home.

The road to Glory was rocky and rough

Yet Christ went with you all the way.

By example He led,

And you too had to tread the path of the Kings Highway.

Isaiah 35:8-10

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: and the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
